24 Daiwa Tatula BF 70 BFS Reel Review:
I was fortunate enough to pick this reel up about a week ago for a great sale at my local sporting goods store (Joe's Sporting Goods in St Paul, MN). I am not reviewing the 24 PX BF70, which is considerably more expensive. I did a quick unboxing of this BF70 and spooled about 40 yards of 10 lb Suffix 832 braid in a his-vis chartreuse. I added a mono leader and paired it with a JDM BFS 4’9” UL casting rod. Firstly, I love the color and the tatula tattoo on the side. It is light in the hand and easy to handle. After casting the reel, I noticed it did well on a windy day. I made accurate casts with a 2.7-gram lure, and the distance was a little short but not bad. The more I use it, the more I love it! I recommend this reel for lightweight and accurate casting, especially in streams and rivers for trout. Also, I believe this is Daiwa’s first official BFS reel that hit the US market. Here is a formal review below.
